About Eco Park (Prakriti Tirtha)
Eco Park, officially Prakriti Tirtha, is the country's largest urban park: about 480 acres in New Town around a 104-acre lake, developed by the state agency HIDCO and inaugurated on 29 December 2012. It is laid out in zones, with wetlands, grassland and urban forest on one side and theme gardens, an amphitheatre, a crafts area and a children's play area on the other. The best-known section has replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World. Activities listed by the park include a toy train, speed boats, a floating pontoon and kayaking. Entry is ticketed, with tickets also sold online, and rides are charged separately. Winter evenings and holidays draw very large family crowds.
