Matches, Runs & Sporting Events in Kolkata

Kolkata's sport is built around two stadiums. Eden Gardens, established in 1864 and seating about 68,000, hosts the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and India's internationals. Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Salt Lake, with a similar capacity, is home to Mohun Bagan and East Bengal and stages the Kolkata Derby. Netaji Indoor Stadium takes kabaddi, basketball and table tennis, and the Calcutta Football League fills smaller grounds through the monsoon. For participants, the Tata Steel World 25K on Sunday 20 December 2026 is the big road race, with a winter season of 5 km and 10 km runs around it. The Maidan's club grounds, the Royal Calcutta Turf Club's racecourse and the city's golf courses add a colonial-era layer. This page lists matches, races, tournaments and fitness events across Kolkata, Salt Lake, New Town and Howrah.
