Tech Meetups, Hackathons & Conferences in Kolkata

Kolkata's tech community is anchored in the east of the city. Salt Lake Sector V, the original IT district, and the newer campuses of New Town hold most of the companies, co-working spaces and incubators, so developer meetups, AI study groups, product talks and design sessions usually happen there on weekday evenings or Saturday mornings. The engineering colleges supply the hackathons and tech fests: Jadavpur University in the south, IIEST at Shibpur in Howrah and the private institutes in Salt Lake and along the Bypass all run annual festivals that are open to outside participants. Larger conferences use the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre and hotel ballrooms. Sector V is the Green Line's eastern terminus, which makes weekday events easy to reach. This page lists tech meetups, hackathons, workshops and conferences across Kolkata, Salt Lake and New Town.
