About Trincas
Trincas is the Park Street restaurant most closely tied to the street's music history. It opened in 1927 as a tea-room and bakery; in July 1959 Om Prakash Puri and Ellis Joshua bought it from its Swiss owner, Cinzio Trinca, and turned it into a restaurant. Through the 1960s and 1970s its live floor shows made it the most popular nightspot on the street, with singers such as Pam Crain and Usha Uthup on its stage. After a long quiet period the restaurant has brought live music back, and bands and singers again play in the dining room. It is open daily from 11:30 am to 11:30 pm and serves Continental, Indian and Chinese food.
