Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata: Sunday 20 December 2026
The Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata will be run on Sunday 20 December 2026, according to the event's official website. It is eastern India's biggest road race and one of the few international-standard races over the 25-kilometre distance. The organiser, Procam International, lists seven categories: the 25K, an Open 10K, the Ananda Run for casual participants, a Senior Citizens' Run, a Champions with Disability event, a virtual run and the elite World 25K field. The race starts in the early morning on Red Road and loops through the Maidan and central Kolkata, past landmarks such as the Victoria Memorial, before finishing back near the start. Registration is through the official site and popular categories close when their slots fill, so do not wait for a deadline. Entry fees and the 2026 route map had not been published on the main page when this was written. Race morning brings rolling road closures around the Maidan, Park Street and AJC Bose Road. For runners the event is the peak of a season that runs from November to February, when mornings are cool enough for distance running. This page lists the World 25K and other races, training runs and running-club events in Kolkata.
