Things to do in Rabindra Sarobar & Southern Avenue
3 events in rabindra sarobar & southern avenue across Kolkata โ mostly other (1), food (1), art (1).
Rabindra Sarobar, still called 'the Lake', is a man-made lake of about 73 acres ringed by walking paths, rowing clubs, a football stadium and old trees. Nazrul Mancha on its northern side is the auditorium where the Dover Lane Music Conference holds its all-night classical sessions every January. Southern Avenue runs along the lake with cafรฉs, the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, established in 1966, and Vivekananda Park. Deshapriya Park on Rashbehari Avenue hosts one of the big south-side Durga Pujas. Mornings belong to walkers and runners. Rabindra Sarobar and Kalighat stations on the Blue Line are each about 1.5 to 2 km from Nazrul Mancha.
