Things to do in Ballygunge
16 events in ballygunge across Kolkata — mostly workshop (5), dance (3), music (2), comedy (2). 1 is free.
Ballygunge is leafy, residential South Kolkata, with clubs, schools and a good share of the city's restaurants along Sarat Bose Road and Ballygunge Place. Its main stage is G.D. Birla Sabhagar on Ashutosh Chowdhury Avenue, next to the Birla Mandir, which opened in 1984 and books touring comedians, classical dance and theatre. The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum on Gurusaday Road, inaugurated in 1959, is a standby for children, and the Calcutta School of Music runs recitals from Sunny Park. Maddox Square is the neighbourhood's sociable Durga Puja ground. No metro station is close, so take a cab or a bus along Gariahat Road.
