Things to do in Tollygunge & Jadavpur

Tollygunge is the home of the Bengali film industry, which is why it is nicknamed Tollywood, and has two colonial-era clubs with golf courses and the southern stretch of the Blue Line. South City Mall on Prince Anwar Shah Road is the area's main indoor destination, with a multiplex, a food court and an atrium used for festive installations and brand events. Jadavpur University's campus drives a student scene of cheap cafés, film screenings, protests and college fests. Further south, Naktala, Bansdroni and Patuli have their own neighbourhood pujas and a floating market at Patuli. The Blue Line currently ends at Shahid Khudiram while the New Garia terminus is rebuilt.
